O’pen Skiff European Championship 2026 – Calasetta accoglie i giovani velisti d’Europa

Dopo le splendide giornate condivise a Barcellona, l’Italia e la Lega Navale Italiana del Sulcis raccolgono con entusiasmo il testimone: nel mese di luglio 2026, Calasetta sarà la cornice del Campionato Europeo O’pen Skiff 2026.

Un appuntamento che porterà nella nostra isola oltre duecento giovani atleti provenienti da tutta Europa, pronti a sfidarsi nelle acque trasparenti e ventose del arcipelago del Sulcis. Un contesto naturale unico, ideale per una manifestazione velica di alto livello e capace di regalare emozioni sia in mare che a terra.

La location è già pronta ad accogliere gli equipaggi con l’ospitalità che contraddistingue la nostra comunità, e la Lega Navale del Sulcis sta lavorando insieme alle istituzioni locali per garantire un evento organizzato con cura, sicurezza e professionalità.

Nel frattempo, a Cagliari è in corso il primo O’pen Skiff Team Race World Championship, un format innovativo che tornerà nel 2026 dal 30 ottobre al 1° novembre. Una gara pensata per far crescere i giovani velisti attraverso tattica, collaborazione e nuove amicizie internazionali: un valore aggiunto per tutto il movimento.

Il 2026 sarà un anno straordinario per l’O’pen Skiff in Sardinia: oltre all’Europeo e al Team Race Mondiale, i giovani atleti avranno l’occasione di confrontarsi anche alla 1ª Eurochallenge 2026, in programma a Porto Rotondo durante il weekend di Pasqua.

La Sardegna e l’Italia sono pronte ad accogliervi per tre eventi di grande vela giovanile, immersi in scenari spettacolari e ricchi di energia sportiva.

Logistica e ospitalità

Calasetta offrirà ai team europei una logistica semplice ed efficiente.
La Lega Navale del Sulcis, in collaborazione con le strutture ricettive del territorio, sta preparando:

  • Convenzioni speciali con hotel, B&B e residence dell’Isola di Sant’Antioco
  • Parcheggi dedicati per carrelli e furgoni delle squadre
  • Una base logistica ampliata, con spazi per armare le barche in sicurezza
  • Area ristoro e accoglienza team presso la sede LNI

Inoltre, le acque protette e riparate del Canale di San Pietro rendono l’area ideale sia per l’attività agonistica sia per le sessioni di allenamento pre-evento.

After the wonderful days shared in Barcelona, Italy and the Lega Navale Italiana Sulcis proudly take the baton: in July 2026, Calasetta will host the O’pen Skiff European Championship 2026.

This event will bring more than two hundred young athletes from all over Europe to our island, ready to compete in the clear and windy waters of the Sulcis Archipelago. A unique natural environment, ideal for a high-level sailing competition capable of offering excitement both at sea and on shore.

The venue is already prepared to welcome all teams with the warm hospitality that distinguishes our community, and the Lega Navale Sulcis is working together with local institutions to ensure an event organized with care, safety and professionalism.

Meanwhile, in Cagliari the first O’pen Skiff Team Race World Championship is underway—an innovative format that will return in 2026 from 30 October to 1 November. A competition designed to help young sailors grow through tactics, teamwork and new international friendships: an added value for the entire movement.

The year 2026 will be an extraordinary season for O’pen Skiff in Sardinia: in addition to the European Championship and the Team Race Worlds, young athletes will also have the chance to compete in the 1st Eurochallenge 2026, scheduled in Porto Rotondo during the Easter weekend.

Sardinia and Italy are ready to welcome you for three major youth sailing events, set in spectacular locations and filled with sporting energy.

Logistics & Hospitality

Calasetta will offer simple and efficient logistics for all European teams.
The Lega Navale Sulcis, in collaboration with local accommodation providers, is preparing:

  • Special accommodation deals with hotels, B&Bs and residences on the Island of Sant’Antioco
  • Dedicated parking areas for team trailers and vans
  • An expanded logistic base with safe and organized areas for rigging the boats
  • A hospitality and refreshment area for teams at the LNI headquarters

In addition, the protected and sheltered waters of the San Pietro Channel make the area ideal for both racing and pre-event training sessions.
